I had no idea you could get such a flavorful broth and hearty meal from a $0.20 bag of instant ramen, but using some various Asian condiments in my pantry and an EGG I found my new absolute favorite 3-minute meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 Bag of Instant Ramen
  • 1 Tbsp of Soy Sauce (Or liquid aminos, if you're avoiding soy like me)
  • 1 Tsp of Sesame Oil
  • Dash of Coconut Milk (Optional)
  • Sesame Seeds
  • 1 Fried Egg
  • Ocean's Halo Seaweed
  • Sliced jalapeno
  • Green onions
  • Sriracha

  • Make your ramen according to the instructions on the packet.
  • While your ramen is steeping/microwaving, add a bit of oil to a pan and fry an egg.
  • Once the ramen is finished, add the soy sauce, sesame oil, coconut milk. Stir well.
  • Top with the fried egg, seaweed, sesame seeds, green onions, and sliced jalapeno.
  • Drizzle with sriracha and enjoy!

    My only suggestion is to crumble the nori (or whatever type of seaweed you're using) so that the flavor permeates the broth, and you get small pieces as you pick up the noodles and veg!!! I also add a "squirt" of minced ginger" as well as some fresh chopped garlic (personal preference), and I'm crazy for toasted sesame seeds and green onions!!! The EGG? It's is OVER. THE. TOP!!! SOOOOO delish!!! Thank you for posting an easy (and inexpensive!) way to elevate to company-worthy the humble ramen packet!!! If you have leftover rotisserie chicken, shredded pork or even beef, add it!!! (if using beef, use a beef ramen packet, though...). Change nothing! Again, the "changes" or "additions" are personal preference! This is a great recipe!!! A lovely launching pad for creativity!!! ~Chrissie
