Dates Jelly Dessert Bowl

Do you love dates and their natural sweetness? This dessert champions this ingredient, making use of whole dates and date syrup, with no added sugars (depending on your date syrup).


It is also a bowl of different textures; from the cold jelly, to the chewy dates and the creamy, milk sauce.


The jelly can remain in the fridge for around three days, so if you make a batch of the jelly you can easily whip it out, cut a few cubes and prompty serve with the other ingredients in no time.


Also, if you wanted, you could add fresh chopped fruits alongside or instead of dates.

Ingredients
For the jelly
  • 35 grams or 3 tsp jelly or gelatine powdered
  • 2 tbsp dates syrup
  • 10 grams custard powder
  • 350 ml or 1.4 cup water
To serve with
  • 6 pcs dates, diced
  • 250 ml or 1 cup fresh milk
  • 2 tbsp date syrup
  • ice cubes (optional)
Instructions
For the jelly
In a medium saucepan, mix all the ingredients and cook over low heat until small bubbles appear. Place the liquid jelly into a glass container (6x4 inches) and let cool in the fridge for at least 1 hour.
Place the jelly on a cutting board and cut it into small cubes.
To serve with
To assemble: place the cubed jelly and diced dates into a small bowl and pour the milk. Add the dates syrup and it is ready to be served.
