Learn how to make a green tea bomb recipe. These beautiful green tea globes contain edible flowers for a beautiful cup of hot tea.

Tea bombs are like hot chocolate bombs, but they are made with tea instead. These beautiful little tea globes are filled with green tea tucked inside a clear shell made with isomalt. I added a pop of color and more flavor by using dried herbs. These make tea time fun, and they make great homemade gifts for your friends. They are also perfect for a spring brunch or summer garden party.can add for a delicious cup of hot tea.


What is a Tea Bomb?


Tea bombs are small clear globes filled with a bag of tea. In this case, I used green tea bags. I also added edible flowers to my tea globes for a flavor boost and to make them beautiful.


The outer shell of my green tea bombs is made with isomalt. When you pour hot water over the green tea globes, the outer shell dissolves. This releases the green tea and edible flowers to make a delicious cup of hot tea.


My green tea bombs are a fun way to enjoy the health benefits of green tea. They also make a beautiful presentation for a garden party or brunch.


I used green tea to make my tea globes for its natural health benefits. I also like the taste of green tea. However, you can also use black tea, green tea, white tea or herbal tea, as is your preference.

Ingredients


  • ⅓ Cup isomalt
  • 3 Individual green tea bags
  • ¼ Cup edible flowers

Instructions


Place the isomalt in a heat safe glass bowl or microwave-safe container. Heat 3-5 minutes at high power, until melted. Use heat-resistance gloves to remove.
Immediately spoon the melted isomalt into all six of the half-spheres silicone cavities in your mold. Working quickly, use the back of a spoon to cover the entire surface of the mold cavities., help yourself with the back of the spoon.
Once the six halves are filled, place the mold in the refrigerator for 5 minutes until they harden.
Add one third of the edible flowers and one green tea bag to three of the globes. Set aside.
Heat a non-stick saucepan or skillet for several minutes on the stovetop. Once hot, remove from heat. Then take one empty half of a tea globe and melt its edge slightly. Quickly press it down onto a filled half of an isomalt shell to form a tea globe.
Repeat the process with the rest of the globes to form the remaining two tea bombs.
Your tea bombs are ready once they have been assembled. Package as desired for personal use or gifting. Or steep in a cup of hot water to use.

Tips

  • Tip: For sweet green tea, include 3 Tablespoons sugar in the recipe. Then add 1 Tablespoons granulated sugar to each tea globe, when adding the tea bag and edible flowers.
  • Tip: Be careful when assembling your DIY tea globes. As the half of the isomalt shell that you melt gets really hot, you will want to use either sugar gloves or tweezers when assembling.
