Easy Crispy Air Fryer Home Fries

One of the best parts of going out for breakfast is the delicious, crispy home fries that you get on the side. Usually those home fries are o addictive because they are deep fried, and well, anything deep fried is worth eating - in my humble opinion, of course. These easy crispy air fryer home fries will satisfy all your breakfast cravings, especially since going out for breakfast is not the easiest thing to do in our current times!

Which Potatoes for Optimal Crispness?

I do not discriminate, I love all potatoes. For these home fries, I used a mix of mini red and yukon gold potatoes. I find the mini potatoes are perfect to cut down on cooking time, and when air fried, they are nice and crisp on the outside while being super creamy on the inside. That's the perfect potato, if you ask me!

If you don't happen to have any mini potatoes on hand, feel free to use yukon golds, or even sweet potatoes. Make sure you cut them into even size pieces, otherwise you will end up with some perfectly soft potatoes, and some that are just a little crunchy - by crunch I mean undercooked (I do discriminate against those potatoes - that's where I draw the line)

How to Get Super Seasoned Home Fries

I strongly suggest to season your potatoes liberally. It may look like there is a LOT of seasoning on your potatoes, but when cooking in an air fryer, I find that I like to shake up my food (because I am impatient and extra) to make sure it is getting evenly browned. This also means a lot of seasoning does shake off, so being liberal is key.

Are These Healthier than Restaurant Home Fries?

In short - yes! Air frying uses much less oil than their deep fried counterpart. I used a very light amount of cooking spray - just enough for the spices to stick to the potatoes. So go for the home fries and enjoy your breakfast! Enjoy these even more with my homemade ranch, and get these easy crispy air fryer home fries on your table for breakfast!

Don’t have an air fryer. Would Putting the potatoes in the oven work???

    • Yes you definitely can! I would recommend still baking at around 400-425, and if you want to speed up the cooking process, par-boil your potatoes.
