Next Level Homemade Hot Chocolate

Does anyone else think the holiday season starts right after Thanksgiving? I do! One of my favorite things to do during December is watch a movie, snuggled up with a fuzzy blanket and watch a movie while drinking Hot Chocolate. It's truly the best way to unwind after a longgg day. I love making Homemade Hot Chocolate because not only do I have it in a matter of minutes in the comfort of my own home, but it's better than the store-bought stuff....100%. It's so much creamier, richer, and tastier especially when you know every ingredient you put in there.

  • 2 tbsp. cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp instant coffee (optional)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract

Tips
  • Using high-quality cocoa powder is best if you want to level up this hot chocolate recipe. You'll be able to taste the difference!
  • Feel free to substitute the milk for plant-based options like almond milk.
  • If you're not a caffeine drinker, no worries, just skip the instant coffee entirely.

Sounds so good. I think it is similar to my moms cocoa she use to make, but she put the cocoa in a pan with just enough water to mix into a smooth paste like substance, then added milk and vanilla, salt and sugar. Sooo good!
