One of my favorite cuisines to cook is Thai. What I love about Thai food is the complexity of its flavors. In once dish, you'll find the beautiful marriage between spicy, salty, sweet and sour in what becomes one the most comforting food profile and an explosion of flavor!

This isn't quite your traditional Thai Larb. It’s usually made with minced pork and cilantro, but today we’re using ground turkey and basil (you can sub basil for cilantro). I’ll have to admit, turkey is NOT my favorite, so I’m always trying to find new ways to make it taste better than it does. Listen to me when I say this, you really can’t tell this is turkey! The flavors are dynamite. Have dinner or lunch ready in under 10 minutes.

Ingredients
Ingredients:
  • 1lb ground turkey
  • Half an onion (or shallots), chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • ¼ cup soy sauce or tamari (reduced sodium)
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce
  • 1 tbsp chili paste (Sambal)
  • 1 cup basil
  • ½ cup mint
  • ¼ cup parsley
  • 2 tbsp of freshly ground pepper
  • Lime wedges, for finishing
Instructions
The How To:
Heat up your skillet for a medium/high heat. Add your onions and cook for a few minutes. We don’t want them super soft at this point.
Add your garlic and cook for 1 minute.
Add your ground turkey and cook for 2-3 minutes.
Add your soy sauce, fish sauce and chili paste. Continue to cook until all the meat is cooked through.
Then add all your herbs and pepper. Once all incorporated and cooked, top with a squeeze of lime and serve with jasmine rice and a cucumber sesame salad.
