I am beyond excited to share this super easy, yet so delicious recipe with you guys. All it requires is 4 ingredients, and 25 minutes of your time, and boom, you’ve got a flaky, sweet and spiced, cinnamon puff pastry twist. I devoured these a concerning amount as a kid, possibly every other day, but how could you not! Unfortunately, most Starbucks, if not all, had discontinued them, leaving my childhood cravings unfulfilled, until now! I promise you, you won’t regret making these and your family, friends, dog, whoever gets to be in your presence and play the role of taste tester for the day, will thank you! Below are a few tips and tricks that I recommend reading for the BEST outcome….but honestly, these are pretty much fool proof and will be delicious anyway. Here's a few little tricks and tips from my experience, to leave you with the best possible cinnamon twists!

  • Make sure your puff pastry is cold, this allows for those CRUCIAL and mouth watering air pockets that we’re aiming for.
  • No need to try and twist your pastry too dramatically, otherwise it will cook unevenly…ALL you have to do is gently twist both ends to get a loose twirl and you’ll be golden.
  • Always…and I mean ALWAYS, add extra cinnamon sugar, it’s the best part, feel free to keep an extra side for dipping after ;)
  • Make sure to watch the time closely, these will go from a perfect golden brown to a dark back quite quickly.

Roll the puff pastry 1 inch thick? Not sure about that, maybe 1/4 inch thick? Just wondering.

Are you talking pastry sheets or dough. This recipe sounds and looks scrumptious. I haven’t been able to find puff pastry dough in the grocery stores. Pastry sheets, yes but not dough.

I have been making a similar treat for many years (never saw it anywhere else). Have always used crescent rolls in a can. Just unroll on floured pastry board and pinch the seams together. I use a ruler to even the edges and measure the cutting lines. They are a big hit at church socials. MP in FL
