Creamy Date Shakes

I have an easy and tasty treat to share with you this morning, a creamy, rich date shake. Dates are healthy and nutritious and contain, magnesium, potassium, iron, vitamin B, fiber, protein, and antioxidants. They are the perfect natural sweetener for shakes, smoothies, baked goods and more.

This shake is the perfect accompaniment to breakfast, as the base of hot chocolate(omit the ice, heat it up and add chocolate crumbles), it could also be used as the base for chia pudding(again, omit the ice), it is an excellent afternoon "pick-me-up" and a light dessert or snack as well. The possibilities are endless.

Ingredients
Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond, cashew, oat or other non-dairy milk
  • 5 Medjool dates, pitted and halved
  • 1 cup of ice
  • 1/4 cup of hemp hearts
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon
Instructions
Directions
Add the dates, milk, ice, hemp seed and cinnamon to your blender, Process until smooth, about 1 minute.
Pour into two glasses and sprinkle with cinnamon, enjoy.
Tips
  • You can use any type of non-dairy milk, ex: oat, soy, almond, cashew.
  • If you do not like hemp hearts, omit them.
  • A sprinkle of nutmeg is delicious as well.
  • If you omit the ice this "shake' is a great base for hot chocolate, smoothies, chia pudding and more.
