Pumpkin Spice Latte

2 servings
10 min

Pumpkin spice latte is a fall favorite loved by many, in fact there are those who count down the days until their favorite drink is served at the coffee shop. You can make the warm, spiced beverage at home and save yourself the trip to your favorite coffee shop and the wait. This recipe is easy, delicious and customizable.

Curl up on a cold day with your favorite book, a cosy throw, and a pumpkin spice latte, then add a few of your favorite candles and while away the day or evening. Give yourself the gift of a little downtime.

You could also make a pot of pumpkin spiced latte, pour it into a thermos and go cross off a few of the fun things on your "Fall Bucket List", like apple picking, sitting around a fire pit with your kids, going to the pumpkin farm, taking a drive to see the Fall colors or whatever else you like.

Ingredients
Pumpkin Spiced Latte
  • 2 cups milk of your choice
  • 1/2 cup brewed hot coffee or espresso
  • 4 Tablespoons pumpkin puree
  • 1 Teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk
  • Whipped cream for garnish
Instructions
Directions
In a saucepan, cook pumpkin puree and condensed milk over medium heat for 1 minute.
Add milk of your choice, vanilla extract, and all of the spices, whisk until frothy and is heated, about 4 minutes.
Pour 1/4 cup of hot espresso/coffee into the bottom of each mug, top with frothed milk and then add whipped cream.
Tips
  • You can use any milk that you like for this recipe, if you do not drink dairy than use almond milk or cashew milk.
  • You can make a larger batch of the pumpkin spice milk to have on hand so that when you need a little Fall "pick me up" it is ready for you to heat up, add the espresso/coffee and top with whipped cream.
  • If you like a more pronounced flavor amp up the spices, I always add extra cinnamon and nutmeg.

This certainly sounds yummy, and I'm glad to be able to use almond milk since my husband is allergic to dairy; however, the sweetened condensed milk is dairy, so what could I use in its place?

I drink one of these frozen every day in place of lunch. I use date syrup as a natural sweetener. So much better than the artificially flavored ones at the coffee shops! I am totally making a batch of this for a cooler weather treat! Many thanks!
