Dress up your cookies for Owl-oween with candy. Not scary, just sweet!

More of a procedure than a recipe, this is a fun method that takes plain cookies and uses candy to create an owl. You can be creative and use the candy and colors of your choice. Kids will have fun decorating these cookies too.

Use your favorite cookie recipe or use ready made cookies from the grocery store bakery to decorate. I used a sugar cookie as a base and a 3 1/2 inch round cookie cutter.

After your cookies are cooled, the fun part begins, adding the candy to create the owl! Here is the candy you need to assemble your owl:

  • peach gummy rings (found at Target)
  • licorice or chocolate Twizzlers
  • candy corn
  • chocolate covered sunflower seeds (found at HomeGoods or TJ Maxx)
  • Reese's Pieces or M&M's
  • Chocolate jimmies for feathers (usually found at baking aisle of grocery store)

Spread your cookie with frosting as the base for your candy to adhere to. You can use store bought frosting as a shortcut or your favorite buttercream recipe.

Customize to taste, Happy Owl-oween!

Christmas will be here before you know it. You can find another easy owl cookie recipe,  here.
