These frozen banana bites are the ultimate quick healthy dessert that is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth! The best part is you only need three ingredients - bananas, almond butter, and chocolate chips and they come together in less than 15 minutes and can be stored in your freezer for a couple of weeks!

These are super easy to make, have minimal clean up, and don't require you to turn on the oven. Big win all around and also another delicious way to enjoy bananas!

You will need the following items for these banana bites:

  • parchment paper
  • cookie sheet/large plate
  • room in your freezer to fit the cookie shee/plate
  • chocolate chips
  • almond butter or peanut butter
  • two bananas
  • microwave
  • spoon, knife, and fork
  • coconut oil (optional)
  • sea salt (optional)

I used salted almond butter as my feeling so I did not use sea salt but if using plain almond butter I recommend topping the chocolate covered bananas with a bit of sea salt before freezing them.

Ingredients

  • 2 large bananas
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3 tablespoons almond butter
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil
Instructions

Line a baking sheet or large plate with parchment paper.
Slice your bananas and line them up on your prepared dish. Banana slices should be about 1/4 inch thick and equal in size.
Top half of your banana slices with almond butter. Top your almond butter bananas with the other half of the remaining banana slices. Place your bananas in the freezer.
While your bananas freeze, melt your chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl. I recommend adding 1 teaspoon of coconut oil to your chips to make them more glossy and harden well. Melt your chocolate chips for 30 seconds. Give the chips a mix and microwave for another 30 seconds. The chocolate should be smooth.
Take out your frozen bananas and one by one cover the bite in chocolate and place back on the parchment paper. You will want to work quickly. If you notice your bananas are beginning to thaw, place them back in the freezer and take out a few at a time.
If you'd like to add sea salt to your bites, sprinkle the sea salt while the chocolate is still wet. Then place in the freezer for 10 minutes.
They are now ready to be enjoyed or can be placed in a freezer safe container and stored for two weeks!
Tips
  • If you do not like almond butter you can substitute your favorite nut butter in. Either creamy or crunchy will work well!
