Boxed Cake Mix Cookie Crinkles Recipe

Make super yummy cookies with a cake mix in a box.

Baking amazing sweet treats can be as easy as three or four simple ingredients. Of course adding a little topping with a cherry means a few extra ingredients but totally worth it. This recipe is the best for making cookies that are perfect to celebrate an occasion, a holiday or take to a cookie exchange. I love that they can be made in a cake box flavor from the local grocery store. Earlier this week I received a sweet package from Cherry Man. In it were CHERRIES and a few other goodies. This morning before school, Zoe and I were discussing baking when she got home. We decided to make cherry vanilla crinkle cookies from a box and I must say, they are awesome.

Halfway Homemade Cherry Crinkle Cookies from a Box

Ingredients

This recipe is super simple. It can be adapted to a different flavor by changing the box mix from vanilla to one of your choice. I am guessing that chocolate cake mix would be amazing and create a cookie that resembles chocolate covered cherries.

1 Box Vanilla Cake Mix

2 TB Juice from maraschino Cherry Bottle

1/2 Cup Canola Oil

2 Large Eggs

1/4 C Powdered Sugar

1/4 C Flour

INgredients

Directions to Make Halfway Homemade Crinkle Cookies from a Box Mix

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Beat the ingredients all together.

Form one inch balls and coat in powdered sugar then put on a greased baking sheet.

Bake for 10-13 minutes.

Let cool completely.

Serve with a smidgen of frosting or melted vanilla bark and a cherry from Cherry Man

They were super messy but really yummy to create. We were so excited to use our new Grace (American Girl) Williams Sonoma spatula. It is not only really pretty and useful but is supports a great cause too.

Cherry Printable Lunchbox Notes

Grab these free notes for the lunchbox. Pack them up with the cookies and create a darling way to tell your kiddos how special they are.

Aren’t they so adorable. I shared other ways to add cherries to the lunchbox in another post. Be sure to check it out too.

Have you ever tried a peanut butter and cherry sandwich. If not, give it a go. It is a delicious idea just like the Crinkle Cookies from a Box!

Cherries just seem to make everything more special. While they are most commonly added to cocktails and mocktails (like the ever popular Shirley Temple drink), they are awfully fun to add to other things too. Cherries are super awesome whole but also great chopped up and added into lots of recipes both for baking and cooking.

Happy Baking and All Things With Cherries on Top,

I think some finely diced maraschino cherries mixed into the batter would put this recipe over the top! Yum. Maybe a teaspoon of Amaretto extract too.

Or Christina a teeny bit of plain Amaretto!!!! Thanks for the great idea which lead me to the Amaretto. Love the chopped up cherry idea also!

Question: I am fairly new at baking - so this may seem like a strange question.

The powders sugar - I assume is just to roll the dough in and not to be included in the

"Beat the ingredients all together". Thanks

    • I have made these already. The powdered sugar is to roll the cookies in before baking to give them the crinkle effect when baked. I also smashed them down slightly with the bottom of a glass. They turned out real cute, made them for a baby shower and a backyard bbq. Well received at both events.
